Navigate With Ease
nüvi 880 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator® NT street maps and millions of points of interest (POIs) such as hotels, restaurants, fuel stations, ATMs and more. Speak a menu option or touch the color screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with 2-D or 3-D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. It even announces the name of exits and streets so you never have to take your eyes off the road. Where Am I?

7/10/2008 9:16:11 PM If you are a route driver or otherwise keep lots of favorites in your Favorites list (hundreds, 500 being max) then stay with the Garmin 660. The 880 is closing in on neat, with Speach Recognition (SR), etc. , but has not yet addressed the problems of being able to manage the Favorites list when it contains many entries. What is needed are ways to have the GPS unit locate entries based on an alpha-numeric search of the Name and Address fields. Example: Find Favorite Find Favorite Name ~spoken text string or spoken word~, like "d o n a l d s" or "donalds" which would find, among other possibilities, all McDonalds resturant locations one has stored in their Favorites list. Same process would be just as necessary for finding Favorites from the favorites list based on Address, i.e.: Find Favorite Find Favorite Address ~spoken text string or spoken word or spoken number~. Also, the volume of the 880 only goes up to about the 60-70% level of the 660. So if your driving environment is a little loud, like diesel bobtail truck or tractor-trailer, then you will probably not be able to hear it when placed on the windshield or passenger seat, etc. Currently, I use 80% when using my 660 in my car, and 90%-100% when driving route truck. The Garmin 880 has a lot of neat new features, but are only being used in a superficial manner. Maybe the next generation SR based units will be more useful for those that really utilize all facets of the device. |

Buying Tips

- If you have a problem with your order or with the merchandise, write a letter to the seller immediately giving all pertinent information. Make sure you keep a copy of this correspondence. Also notify your credit card company.
- If the merchandise is not shipped within 30 days, you generally have the right to a cancel your order and receive a complete refund.
- If you are unable to obtain satisfaction after notifying the seller of your problem, contact the consumer protection agency in the seller's state. And please let us know about it at PriceSCAN.com.
