5/7/2002 5:38:59 PM An excellent product; less than an hour for a three PC home network sharing a cable modem - removing and deconfiguring the old hub and old ICS server's dual NICs, and then installing and configuring the router. Remember though to reconfigure any firewall software (in my case Symantec and Win XP Pro) to allow all network functionality. |

10/1/2000 7:04:23 AM While this is a great router for most, some (myself included) have had problems with data corruption on a regular basis. Linksys has been unable to correct the problems, so I will have to go with the Netgear RT314. It's a shame, since I really liked everything about this router except for the corruption. If you want to try it, just be sure to buy from a dealer who accepts returns in case you have the same problems I did. |

5/28/2000 1:01:20 AM This unit is one of the few (if any) that can do so much for almost very little. Switch/Router with firewall integrated and it all actually works!! I have a small network of 3 computers and one laptop at home and just got DSL and this router has lived up to its claims so far. All my computers connect at very fast speed even when they're all online. I also have BlackIce Defender Firewall software and so far it hasn't detected a single ping from outsiders, indicating that the built in firewall is working properly. The only minor complain I have is the somewhat vague documentation about the setup of TCP/IP with DNS routers,but that's just a speck compared to what it actually accomplishes. |

Buying Tips
- Confirm all merchandise and price information with the vendor, including the model (whether it is a US or non-US model), the condition of the product (whether it is new, refurbished or remanufactured), what accessories are included and what the warranty covers.

- Keep copies of all transactions including receipts, credit card charges, correspondence, etc. For phone orders, make a note of the merchandise ordered, the price, promised delivery date, and any follow-up conversations. Get the name of the any persons you deal with on the phone.
- If you have a problem with your order or with the merchandise, write a letter to the seller immediately giving all pertinent information. Make sure you keep a copy of this correspondence. Also notify your credit card company.
- If the merchandise is not shipped within 30 days, you generally have the right to a cancel your order and receive a complete refund.
- If you are unable to obtain satisfaction after notifying the seller of your problem, contact the consumer protection agency in the seller's state. And please let us know about it at PriceSCAN.com.
