Marantz BD8002 Blu-ray / DVD / CD Player Product Description
The BD8002 Blu-Ray disc player sets new standards as the source device in today’s most advanced home entertainment systems.
As with all Marantz products, careful choice of internal components and painstaking circuit design lets the BD8002 provide the performance and flexibility that have made Marantz a classic name in home entertainment. It plays DVDs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, MP3 and WMA encoded files and of course, Blu-ray video discs. The front-panel SD card reader also lets you display personal photographs on a big screen.
Audio performance is nothing short of breathtaking. The BD8002 brings you every nuance and effect thanks to critical circuit path routing and exceptional parts selection. Built-in Dolby True HD and dts HD Master Audio processing let you output these new audio formats via 7.1 channel analog connections or in digital form via an HDMI 1.3a link. Advanced D/A converters provide 24-bit resolution and dynamic range in excess of 120 dB.
Silicon Optix’s Realta HQV video processor provides outstanding video scaling to 1080p for exceptional detail from conventional DVDs. The result? An absolutely transforming experience from the tens of thousands of DVD already available.
Analog video output benefits from Analog Devices’ high speed 12-bit video DAC. Connectivity includes both RCA and BNC outputs for component video as well as composite and S-video jacks.
The BD8002’s HDMI 1.3a output supports the new 36-bit Deep Color standard for visual images from today’s – and tomorrow’s – Blu-ray discs that truly challenge the eye’s resolving power.
A multi-layered chassis virtually eliminates vibration’s negative effects. A dual-layer top and the triple-layer bottom plate add mass and damping. The transport itself features metal tray guides and an anti-vibration loader to guard against magnetic interference and dust.
Operating the BD8002 is simplicity itself. A thoroughly accessible front panel lets any user access the most needed functions quickly. And a full-function remote accesses more demanding tasks with ease.
The BD8002 synchronizes perfectly with advanced control systems via a bi-directional RS-232 port. A direct IR flasher input and a detachable power cord add to the BD8002’s installation ease.
The Marantz BD8002 continues our quest to honor the memory of Saul Marantz with products that present home entertainment – musical events as well as cinema spectaculars – in an emotionally involving way.
