9/10/2007 12:18:22 PM I would give this unit a 10, but it is a basic unit without all the bells and whistles, but it beats all others by its price. We just came back from Hawaii, and it saved me frustration. If you have ever driven in Honolulu and Waikii, you know what I mean. I did what it told me, even though I thought it was wrong, but it always got me there. Usually quicker and more direct, but sometimes slower. It depends on if you set it up for speed or economy. It doesn't play cd's or dvd's, but who cares. You are supposed to be watching the road anyway. It takes awhile to figure out just how to use it, but when you do, it is fantastic. Kind of "how did it know"?? Remember to insert the memory chip before you turn it on, the first time. The manual doesn't really tell you to do that. Maps are current to Mar/07. We are going to Penn next year, and having driven the turnpikes back there, I am really looking forward to it. Use it right away, just driving around town, and you will quickly figure out how it works. Now for some negs. The manual is a little hard to read and a little non-descript. You must have windows up, as it is hard to hear over road noise. even on the highest volume setting or use an earphone, not included. Don't trust battery operation, use the power cord. It will not even turn on, if just plugged in, until the battery is slightly charged. Use night setting at night. It is very bright otherwise and is distracting as it reflects off your eyeballs. Hope this helps you make a decision. I really recommend this unit and you cannot beat the price, compared to other GPS's. |

Buying Tips
- Confirm all merchandise and price information with the vendor, including the model (whether it is a US or non-US model), the condition of the product (whether it is new, refurbished or remanufactured), what accessories are included and what the warranty covers.

- Keep copies of all transactions including receipts, credit card charges, correspondence, etc. For phone orders, make a note of the merchandise ordered, the price, promised delivery date, and any follow-up conversations. Get the name of the any persons you deal with on the phone.
- If you have a problem with your order or with the merchandise, write a letter to the seller immediately giving all pertinent information. Make sure you keep a copy of this correspondence. Also notify your credit card company.
- If the merchandise is not shipped within 30 days, you generally have the right to a cancel your order and receive a complete refund.
- If you are unable to obtain satisfaction after notifying the seller of your problem, contact the consumer protection agency in the seller's state. And please let us know about it at PriceSCAN.com.
