11/8/2003 7:33:22 PM Wanted to upgrade from my 3.3 Olympus Camedia so purchased S50. Big mistake. No comparison on quality. Lots of features, but the quality is not present. My 3 year old Olympus is heads above the S50. Recent Consumerws agrees. Thank goodness I did not sell the Olympus. I caution anyone to try before purchasing. Wish I could return the Canon. |

The pictures are outstanding and the options are relatively easy to use (unless you are a person who never reads instruction manuals). Easy to use, nice compact design. If you are a person looking for a really good point-and-shoot camera, this will give you that and then some. If you are a professional just looking to get away from your digital SLR and all of it's equipment, yet have the flexibility and quality you expect, you can't go wrong with the S50. I love it! The movie option on this camera is nice in case you get caught without your camcorder. But don't expect great stuff... the S50 (along with pretty much all other digital still cameras) just has this as a little back up. Like I said, it is nice, but not too special. Get a video camera for that job! |
Buying Tips
- Confirm all merchandise and price information with the vendor, including the model (whether it is a US or non-US model), the condition of the product (whether it is new, refurbished or remanufactured), what accessories are included and what the warranty covers.
- Ask for a total of all charges including shipping, handling, insurance and taxes.

- If the merchandise is not shipped within 30 days, you generally have the right to a cancel your order and receive a complete refund.
- If you are unable to obtain satisfaction after notifying the seller of your problem, contact the consumer protection agency in the seller's state. And please let us know about it at PriceSCAN.com.
