4.8% Decrease Last Week in Intel Core 2 Quad Index
PriceSCAN Vice President of Financial Products Daniel Fehder commented that the Intel Core 2 Quad Index declined 4.8% last week, compared to a 9.5% decrease over the entire course of Q2.
Jeff Trester, PriceSCAN Co-CEO and Chief Economist, noted, “This acceleration in the price decline of a key advance processor class is troubling, coming as it does just as hopes of increased PC demand have been waxing. One hopeful aspect of this drop may be the potential for manufacturers to pass on lower processor costs to computer buyers. Perhaps this will make these machines more attractive in the second half, when, catalyzed by hopes of recovery and the new version of Windows, some pent-up demand may finally be met.”
