2.6% Drop in GPS with Voice Recognition Index Erases Prior Gains
PriceSCAN Vice President of Financial Products Daniel Fehder commented that our Automotive GPS with Voice Recognition Index decreased 2.6% last week after rising more than 2% in the first week of January and staying flat from 1/12 – 1/16.
Jeff Trester, PriceSCAN Co-CEO and Chief Economist, noted, “It appears whatever support higher gas and inventory reduction leant to post-holiday GPS pricing has not been enough to break the broader downward trend in this recessionary environment. This reversal just demonstrates how volatile electronic goods prices can be in this economy.”
